Combust feels less impactful when you’re doing it every minute instead of every 2 minutes, and it waters down the rest of the specs gameplay outside of those windows. Pooling resources for Combust is fine when it’s 2m cd… but when it’s 1m it really starts to damage the spec’s damage profile. You stop converting HU -> HS, because you want to pull charges for the next combust. You don’t want to use Phoenix Flames to spread ignite, because you want those charges for combustion. The cooldown of combustion being too short is bad for the spec from a design perspective because it causes the gameplay to entirely collapse around the cooldown. This is in part due to its interaction with the new Rune of Power – reverting that might be enough to alleviate the issue – but Kindling shouldn’t increase Rune of Power up time. This was likely the intent of the PF/Ignite changes anyway, but you’ve just missed the mark on tuning – so should be an easy fix.Ģ: Combustion cooldown being too short is bad for the spec (Related to 3): The current version of Kindling is too good. This will give us three distinct rotations for different numbers of targets and make tracking/spreading ignite crucial to cleave. The goal should be that it overtakes Single target + Phoenix Flame cleave at exactly Five targets.

Reduce the damage Flame Patch deals and if necessary introduce a scaling factor so that the damage grows based on the number of enemies standing in the flame patch. Solution: Softcap Flame Patch to 20 targets. I believe this to be a tuning issue on Blizzard’s part, as their intention for Fire cleave is to monitor ignite on a single target and spread that ignite to surrounding targets. The damage of Flame Patch is also fully uncapped, which promotes a degenerate playstyle in dungeons. Hardcasting it in 5+ targets should be optimal, as having a different primary nuke for AoE feels good – but not for 2-5 targets. I’m going to outline some problems I think the spec has currently, and how blizzard can solve them moving forward.ġ: Flame Patch in its current iteration is a degenerate talent. Some of these changes are probably nerfs, but I’d rather have a nerfed version of the spec with more engaging gameplay than an OP version with degenerate gameplay.
